Community
The Community in Farnley Tyas is a fairly stable one! It emerged from our survey that 59% had been resident for more than ten years and in fact 36% of people living in the Village had done so for more than twenty years. There is a good mix of ages with both young families, middle aged people and the elderly.

Development and Environment
The Village is surrounded by Green Belt land, has Conservation Area status and has two Urban Green Spaces.

All newcomers to the Village have come to live here because so far the Village has been free of the major development that has so spoiled other Villages in the area. Traffic and Transport
Farnley Tyas has experienced traffic levels which have steadily increased over the last ten years. There are two main reasons for this increase. Firstly, there has been an increase in housing in the surrounding area around the Village which has resulted in increased volumes of traffic, particularly commuter traffic.
